Rheumatology is a specialized branch of medicine which deals with autoimmune diseases. Autoimmune diseases in simple terms means when your own immune system attacks your own body.

Some of the common autoimmune diseases are arthritis, lupus, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, sarcoidosis etc. Apart from these, rheumatologist also deals with other organ related diseases like interstitial lung disease, specific skin, eye, vascular, renal diseases.
